Club Atlético Osasuna has implemented the ‘Futuro Tajonar’ project, an 18-million-euro project to expand its sports complex. Therefore, Tajonar will add to its current facilities, which will also be reformed, a new stadium, two natural grass and two artificial grass fields, and a two-story building for the first team and the club’s front office.
The expansion will be on the land Osasuna recovered in 2021. The Tajonar Sports Complex will occupy 299,282 square meters, of which Osasuna owns 166,624; a 28,244- square-meter addition to the latter can be made if the Club’s General Assembly approves its purchase for 4 million euros, a price the Government of Navarre has already approved. The rest of the facilities are divided into 85,670 square meters owned by the Government of Navarre and leased to the club and 19,104 square meters loaned by the City of Valle de Arnguren for 20 years to construct a 600-vehicle parking.
The project is expected to begin in September 2025 and be inaugurated by the start of the 2027-28 season
One of the project’s centerpieces is the construction of a natural grass stadium with two stands on each side of the field and a capacity for 2,800 fans. If If suitable, the stadium’s capacity might be increased to 5,000 by adding stands on the end zones. The stadium will serve as the home field for Osasuna Femenino and Osasuna Promesas.
Osasuna will add two natural grass fields destined for the first team's training and will have a small covered seating area. Along these fields, a public restaurant for anyone to enjoy is planned. The project includes a two-story building next to the entrance and the fields. The first floor, 2,030 square meters, will be equipped with all the first team necessities: a gym, a medical area, a locker room, hydrotherapy pools, storage units, coaching staff offices, a video room, a dining hall, and a kitchen. This will allow the first team to move to the new building, and the club will reform the current facilities for the academy teams, especially Osasuna Femenino and Osasuna Promesas.
The second floor has 1,370 square meters and 960 square meters of outdoor space. This will be the space for the club’s front office, which is currently at El Sadar, and a multi- purpose room for press conferences and meetings.
Tajonar will host the General Management and the Communication, Digital, Marketing, Operations, Technology and Infrastructures and Fundación Osasuna departments, a meeting room and the President’s Office. The move will open spaces at El Sadar for new resources.
Also, with the expansion, two new artificial grass fields will be located between the current facilities and the first team’s new building. This addition will bring to 12 the fields at ‘Futuro Tajonar,’ five natural grass fields and seven artificial grass, and placing the rojillo sports complex as one of the top facilities in the world.
The construction is set to be done to welcome the world’s best national teams for the 2030 FIFA World Cup: Spain, Portugal, and Morroco.
