Vicente Moreno: "I Want to See a Team Hungry to Win and Inspire El Sadar"
The Rojillo boss addressed the media ahead of tomorrow's match against Sevilla FC.
Head coach Vicente Moreno addressed the media ahead of Osasuna's LaLiga match against Sevilla FC, scheduled for tomorrow at El Sadar.
"Now we have a chance—I insist—against a tough opponent," said Moreno. "We will again need that extra boost El Sadar gives us at every match. Because of the opponents' level — regardless of their place in the standings — they are challenging rivals. There might be times when we will be pressed in tomorrow's match, and we will need the support of our fans."
"Beyond focusing on how far we can get— it's good to stay ambitious— we need to value the club's and the players' efforts throughout the season," he added. "At this point, we've basically achieved the goal we set at the start of the season, and that's worth highlighting — because it's not easy. On top of that, the club and the players have continued to build on the work done in previous years."
The Osasuna coach emphasized what he wants to see from his team tomorrow: "We're in a position now where a win could really excite our fans. That's what I want to see—a hungry team, eager to do things right, determined to win the game and to inspire El Sadar."
"We have to take advantage of the situation we're in today. And to do that, everyone in this family must give their all to try to win tomorrow's match," Moreno said during his pre-match press conference.
On Sevilla, Moreno was respectful yet cautious: "When analyzing opponents, especially when they've recently changed managers, I like to be very careful out of respect for both the current coach and the previous one. I can say that Sevilla, regardless of their current standing, has a great squad and top-level players. Soccer can be unpredictable and put you through tough stretches, but this is a team with quality that competes and has players capable of winning a game on their own. I expect an opponent that will challenge us and make things difficult."
