Vicente Moreno: "We All Needed This — Everyone Who Is Part of the Osasuna Family"

Osasuna head coach Vicente Moreno addressed the media following his team's 2–1 victory over Girona at El Sadar on Saturday.

"It brings a sense of calm, in a way," Moreno said. "We had been searching for this result for a long time. Sometimes it slipped away for one reason, for another. Today finally gives us that relief of earning three points."

He emphasized the significance of securing the win at home, in front of the fans. "I'm very happy for them. As I said before the match, I truly believe we are a family. We all suffer when results don't go our way. It's not just one person — you see the fans and players suffer, and today they have been rewarded for all their hard work. Even the club executives and staff suffer. Everyone here does — even you in the media, I believe you share some of that suffering."

Moreno stressed the importance of the victory but remained cautious. "It was important to win today. We haven't achieved anything yet, but it brings a little peace of mind. We are closer to the significant goal we set for ourselves. Now it's about staying calm and continuing to work," he said. "We have a very important match next weekend. There's no time to stop. We'll enjoy a few hours of calm, then prepare for the next game."

He also praised the support from the fans. "As I said before the match, we needed our people, and they played a crucial role. A large part of every victory we've achieved here is thanks to them. Today, once again, they pushed us forward," he said. "This was a win we all needed — Osasuna needed it."

Moreno highlighted the collective spirit of the club. "We are all part of this — I've said it before: we are a family. Some of us have one role, others have another. Some of you experience it working across from us, others from the stands. But we are all part of the Osasuna family, and all needed this. If anyone deserves extra credit, it's the fans — the club belongs to them," he said.

Finally, Moreno congratulated his players for their composure under pressure. "It's not easy to stay calm when you are desperate for a win," he said. "Of course, during these matches, there have been moments of anxiety and nerves. But that just shows we have people here who care deeply about Osasuna. You know them even better than I do — many have been here long and given so much to the club."
