Tajonar hosts two Indonesian players to train under 'Método Tajonar'

In collaboration with Ekkono Method, the Osasuna Academy will teach its methodology to two players from PT LIB Indonesia in an experience that goes beyond the pitch.

The Club Atlético Osasuna Academy, Tajonar, continues to solidify its reputation as a global leader in player development. This time, in partnership with Ekkono Method, it has welcomed two players from PT LIB Indonesia to train under its methodology. Over the course of two weeks, the young players will continue their development, train with the U-16 team, and also explore Navarre's cultural richness. This marks the fourth time since December that representatives or players from international clubs have visited the Tajonar academy to learn more about 'Método Tajonar.'

"Osasuna is a reference in youth development nationally and is gaining international recognition. This is crucial for the club's internationalization process. We have become a preferred option for clubs, leagues, and international companies because we provide a safe, reliable, and exceptional environment for developing young soccer players," said Ángel Alcalde, director of Tajonar.

Tajonar is one of six selected to host 18 Indonesian youth players. This initiative is the result of a partnership between Ekkono Method and PT LIB Indonesia, aimed at raising the level of football in the Asian country.

"Our first choice was Osasuna due to the quality of its academy. It's a club that has proven its ability to develop players who make it to the first team. In terms of methodology and teaching, Osasuna's academy is one of the best in Spain. That's why we decided to bring the top talents here for training," said Aitor Orive, the international project manager at Ekkono Method.

"This project is developed in collaboration with the Indonesian league. Our goal is to improve Indonesian football, starting by selecting three U-16 players from each of the 18 top-tier teams. After video analysis and seeing them live, we selected the best player from each team, totaling 18. In this final phase, these players travel to Spain to experience training with professional teams."

Alcalde: 'A Great Opportunity to Showcase Osasuna's Development Capabilities'

The players selected to train at Tajonar are central defender Waliyuddin Shofa (Persib Bandung) and right winger Rohmat Nuridaya (PSM Makassar). Left-back Peres Akwila (Persija Jakarta) was also scheduled to participate, but he could not travel to Navarra as he has been called to training camp with the U-18 national team.

During their stay, these players are receiving football training complemented with morning Spanish lessons and visits to iconic locations in Navarra.

"Football can open many doors, and in this sense, Osasuna has immense potential. When these players come here, in addition to the training, immersing themselves in Osasuna's U-16 team pushes them to challenge themselves and see how they measure up. There are many goals for them during their stay, but it's not just about football. They also have the opportunity to experience our land, culture, and gastronomy," Alcalde said.

"For us, it's a great opportunity to showcase Osasuna's capabilities in youth development and introduce them to our land, our city… I think it's a great opportunity for both Osasuna and Navarre."

These initiatives benefit the club's youth academy in terms of exposure and represent a valuable opportunity for the Osasuna players. Training alongside players from other countries allows them to gauge their level, learn new playing styles, and enrich themselves with different cultures, contributing to their personal and athletic growth.

"It works both ways for our youth players. It's a chance for them to interact with other cultures, meet other players, see how football is played in different regions, and socialize differently," Alcalde added.

Other teams sharing their club with the Indonesian players include Girona F.C., Deportivo Alavés, C.E. Europa, F.C. Andorra, and Reus Reddis.

The visit from these young players follows previous visits from two Portland Timbers players, the general director of Yamaguchi F.C., and two youth coaches from F.C. Dallas and F.C. Cincinnati. This marks the fourth such visit in the last four months, demonstrating the growing international interest in the work being done at Tajonar.
