Vicente Moreno: "We're Leaving Frustrated"
Osasuna head coach Vicente Moreno spoke at a press conference following his team’s 1-0 loss to Celta at Estadio Abanca Balaídos.
“We’re leaving frustrated because I think we played a very strong first 35 minutes, completely neutralizing Celta,” Moreno said. “But it’s not just about that—it’s about capitalizing on that dominance, and we didn’t do that. I think we lacked a bit of decisiveness in the final third. The stats show it—we took 17 shots, but only one was on target. We needed something more to win the match.”
He also noted, “Maybe they were slightly better than us in the second half. That’s when the penalty incident happened, even though there wasn’t much more. But they were the better side.”
“In the final moments of the match, trailing like that, we went all in and made Celta suffer. It’s not easy to do that in this stadium—having them pinned back and scrambling to clear the ball,” Moreno added. “We had a chance with [forward] Jose [Arnaiz], but it didn’t work out. It’s a shame because it feels like we were missing a little extra to get something out of the match. But in the end, we couldn’t even get that due to the penalty decision.”
