"What we have done in the past is not enough; we have to double the efforts, what we have done well, and have a know-how," head coach Vicente Moreno.
This morning, Osasuna head coach Vicente Moreno addressed the media ahead of tomorrow’s Copa del Rey quarterfinal match against Real Sociedad at Reale Arena. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. CET (6:30 GMT/1:30 p.m. ET). “I am excited and ready for the game. I have said that I would pay to play a final, which is easy to say, but in reality, I would pay to be in the semifinal. First, it is what gives you the possibility to advance, and then, facing Real Sociedad will be tough, and they will make it challenging for us.”
When asked about Sunday’s win over Real Sociedad, the rojillo gaffer said, “It will give us more pressure. I have always said the difference between a win, loss, or draw is slim, and we could have easily drawn or lost any of the previous games against them, but we have won, which alerts the opponent, making it harder.” He added, “If we think of any of our previous games, assuming they are connected or have something in common, we will make a big mistake. Our goal is not to think about that, so we have to stop thinking about the previous games and focus on tomorrow, which has nothing to do with the previous ones. What we have done in the past is not enough; we have double the efforts, what we have done well, and have a know-how. We will have to be even higher than in the past matches if we want to win tomorrow.”
He told the fans, “We have our supporters backing us. We know that 6,227 signed up to get tickets, but only 645 got them – if I am not mistaken, surely more people will get regular tickets. We are aware of the support we have - those who will be there, those who won’t, and those who will be watching from home. So, we understand the demand, not so much of a demand, that desire to give you, to be liked and make you happy. As I said last week, they are our motor; if we can, we try to make our fans happy.”
