Osasuna head coach Vicente Moreno addressed the media following his team's 2-1 victory against Tenerife at Estadio Heliodoro Rodríguez López. "I am happy. [The Copa del Rey] is an amazing competition and we wanted to advance to Round 16. We know its importance for Osasuna and wanted to be at the draw, so I am thrilled for today's victory," the Rojillo gaffer said.
During the press conference, Moreno congratulated his players for the effort put into the match. "I want to congratulate the players because they came here to play. Yes, it wasn't all easy, but we did a great first half, where we controlled the game. We went from a 3-0 lead, which I think would have sealed the match – I will take a second look at it because I am not sure it was offside – to a 2-1, which always opens the game and makes it hard, and it gave the opponent a push for the second half. In the second half, not much happened, so we are happy to be moving on to the next round."
"It was what we expected. We were coming to play against a team going through tough circumstances, plus they just made a managerial change. This was his first game, and that always brings a change because the players double their efforts. We knew it would be a tough match, which we told the players. We had to be respectful of Tenerife because they were going to be challenging," he concluded.
