Osasuna earns a point following a scoreless draw at RCDE Stadium

Rojillos and Pericos earned a point on a stalemate

Club Atlético Osasuna (6-7-4, 25 points) and RCD Espanyol (4-2-10, 14 points) earned each a point after a scoreless draw at RCDE Stadium on Saturday afternoon. The Navarrese side led in possession but couldn't translate it into scoring opportunities. Meanwhile, the Catalonians recorded more shots on target, with midfielder Pol Lozano having the clearest chance from outside the box, but a save by goalkeeper Sergio Herrera stopped the danger.

Both teams had a well-structured game plan in the first half. Los Rojillos's idea was to lead in possession, but they couldn't capitalize on it as the team approached the byline. Los Pericos were expecting the counter, yet a solid Osasuna stopped them at every turn.

Following the break, head coach Vicente Moreno sent his players into offensive mode to press on goalkeeper Joan García. Midfielder Aimar Oroz and forward Raúl García had an opportunity, but they were off target. The Catalonians had their opportunities in the final stretch of the match as Lozano put Herrera to the test, but the rojillo goalkeeper flew across the goal to stop the ball. For the remainder of the game, teams tried to break the opponent, but to no avail.

Osasuna will return to El Sadar to face Athletic Club on Saturday, December 21, for the team's last game of the year. Kickoff is set for 6:30 p.m. CET (5:30 p.m. GMT/12:30 p.m. ET).
