"I'm annoyed for getting the win," head coach Vicente Moreno
The Rojillo boss addressed the media after today's 2-2 draw against Villarreal.
After the 2-2 draw with Villarreal at El Sadar, Osasuna head coach Vicente Moreno addressed the media. "We have played against a high-level rival that rallied from behind and even had options of winning past the 90th minute, which speaks a lot. However, I am annoyed because we couldn't get the win."
Regarding the match, Moreno stated, "At the beginning, we were on track. I think we played an excellent first half, and we deserved the result we got. Regardless of the stats, there is also the game itself, and I think we were better than Villarreal in the first half; we even started the second half with a play that was not a goal by a miracle and could have put us 3-0. And then, of course, you have to suffer. We are talking about a team with great potential, and the eleven, despite their injuries, were very recognizable. We are talking about international players, and despite the stats, the feeling I have had is that the goal we conceded, the penalty, and one more action by [forward] [Thierno] Barry that [goalkeeper] Sergio [Herrera] saved, I don't think they had many more chances despite what the shots taken stat says."
He concluded by explaining that "it is an important point because scoring against a team like this is not easy. People might say whatever they want, but I believe we deserved the win when you put everything that happened today together."
