Osasuna wins at El Sadar 1-0

Forward Ante Budimir scored the game-winning goal from the penalty spot

Club Atlético Osasuna won in an emotional game after the damage caused by the “Cold Drop” in the Valencian Community. The Rojillo players presented their head coach, a Massanassa native, with a win that placed the team with 21 points. Forward Ante Budimir scored the game-winning goal from the penalty spot.

The game started with Osasuna leading the possession and creating chaos on the flanks thanks to defenders Jesús Areso and Rubén Peña and forward Bryan Zaragoza. Following a play orchestrated by midfielder Aimar Oroz, Budimir drew a penalty, which had to be reviewed by the referee before calling it. The Croatian international stepped to the spot and converted the goal. The striker and his teammates dedicated the goal to those affected by the “Cold Drop.” Having the advantage on the scoreboard, Osasuna continued to dominate the game, and Aimar and Budimir missed their chances to extend the lead.

In the second half, Los Rojillos remained in control and even had a chance through Peña, but a defender blocked the attempt. In the 54th minute, Budimir tried with a powerful shot but hit the woodwork. Three minutes later, Zaragoza fired a shot that barely missed the target. As the game ended, Real Valladolid had a chance to even the score, but defender Alejandro Catena stopped the ball from going in.

With the win, Osasuna is now fourth in the standings after 12 LaLiga EA Sports games and recorded its second-best start to a season in Primera División. Los Rojillos now prepare to face Chiclana in the first round of la Copa del Rey on Tuesday, November 5. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. CET (6 p.m. GMT/1 p.m. ET).
