Club Atlético Osasuna General Assembly approves the 2023/24 season accounts and the 2024/25 season budget
The entity's members authorized the repurchase of 28,244 square meters in Tajonar and the advancement of the new Assembly's electoral process
Club Atlético Osasuna General Assembly has ratified the 2023/24 season accounts, with a profit of 2.8 million euros, and the budget for the current 2024/25 season, with an estimated profit of 54,000 euros. Likewise, the members authorized the board of directors to continue repurchasing the club's assets by acquiring a 28,244 square meter plot in Tajonar for 4 million euros. The meeting also approved the Electoral Board to bring forward the electoral process to renew the Assembly.
The club's president, Luis Sabalza, opened the meeting with a reflection on investments in infrastructure: "The refurbishment of El Sadar has been one of the pillars of Osasuna's growth in recent years. It allowed us to add up to 4,000 members compared to what we had before and now we earn around 5 million more per year from the stadium's operation. Now, we are facing Futuro Tajonar, the club's most important strategic project for the next five years. Osasuna competes in a very complex ecosystem, and it has to fight against clubs in the hands of large properties. In this context, we must maximize one of our main assets, Tajonar."
The presentation of the accounts for the 2023/24 season was made by Osasuna's financial director, Rafa Sáenz. It was complemented by the presentation of the report of the Economic Control Commission, which its president, Gonzalo Larrondo, gave. The members approved the accounts with 187 votes in favor, 14 against, five blank, and nine nulls. Subsequently, after Sáenz's presentation on the budget, this item was also approved with 185 votes in favor, 17 against, one blank and eight nulls.
The Ordinary General Assembly closed with the presentation of the report of the Organ for the Defense of the Member, made by its secretary, Endika Rodriguez. The Extraordinary General Assembly began, in which the members approved two other items on the agenda with their votes.
Sabalza explained to the Assembly the repurchase of some land in what is known as the 'annexes' of Tajonar. "It is undoubtedly that the repurchase of lost assets requires an effort, but on this board of directors, we understand that the club's growth has to be linked to the recovery of these properties. We understand that Osasuna with patrimony has more solid foundations and a stronger club," he explained. The authorization to repurchase these lands was approved with 185 votes in favor, 10 against, two blank, and three null ballots.
Finally, the president of the Electoral Board, Alfonso Ramírez, explained to the delegate members the reasons for requesting an early election to set up a new Assembly. The request was approved with a favorable vote of 185 members, while 14 voted against it, zero blank, and seven nulls.
