Tafalla, Spain (Thursday, July 25, 2024) – Club Atlético and Club Deportivo Mirandés play to a 1-1 draw at Campo San Francisco on Thursday afternoon. Forward Iker Benito got Los Rojillos ahead, but forward Yidne Pinto found the equalizer as the game ended.

Osasuna started the match pushing forward and tried to set the game's tone early; however, Mirandés had the first opportunity. In the fifth minute, midfielder Mathis Laucher played a long ball to Yidne, who, with a right foot shot, tried to surprise goalkeeper Sergio Herrera, but the Rojillo goalie stopped the attempt. Following their attempt, Osasuna led the game and opportunities. First, midfielder Lucas Torró tried with a shot from outside the box, but the attempt went wide. Later, defender Aberl Bretones sent a low cross from the left flank to the center of the box, finding midfielder Javi Martínez. The homegrown player connected with the ball, but the opposition deflected his shot. In the 42nd minute, forward Ante Budimir connected with a corner kick from forward Jose Arnaiz, but his header went over the crossbar.

In the second half, Osasuna continued to be the most dangerous connecting passes and constantly played in the opposition's half. In the 51st minute, defender Jesús Areso sent a cross to the far post, where Benito headed the ball and shook the woodwork. Benito's efforts paid off six minutes later when he fired a rocket from outside the box following a corner kick and gave the lead to his team. In the 78th minute, forward Ander Yoldi had an opportunity to extend the lead, but his attempt hit the framework.   

In the 86th minute, Mirandés tied the game when Yidne intercepted a pass in the midfield and sprinted into the box to score the equalizer.

Los Rojillos return to action on Wednesday, July 31, to face Real Sociedad in their fourth preseason match at Zubieta. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. CET (6 p.m. BST/1 p.m. ET).
