Fundación Osasuna Femenino announces roster moves
Osasuna Femenino will keep an important core of players from the previous season.
Pamplona (Friday, June 21, 2024) - Fundación Osasuna Femenino has announced roster moves ahead of the 2024-25 season. The team will remain under head coach Josu Domínguez, whose contract extension was announced a few weeks ago.
The team exercised options with many players to keep an important core of the players who made such an amazing run last year.
Four players have renewed their contracts for next season: goalkeeper Maitane Zalba, defender Josune Urdániz, midfielder Vanessa Rodríguez and forward Elena Valej. Eight players remain under contract: defenders Aitana Zumárraga, Saioa Larumbe and Merche Izal; midfielder Celia Ochoa, Yaiza Relea, Maite Valero; and forwards Iara Lacosta and Carmen Sobrón.
The club did not renew goalkeeper Silvia Pérez, defender Vera Martínez, or forwards Maitane Vilariño, Alexia Blanco and Ariadna Sánchez. Also, midfielder Miriam Rivas announced her retirement from football earlier this week. Fundación Osasuna Femenino thanks them for their efforts and contributions to the club.
Azpiazu, Guallar y Salinas to join the first team
Next season, defender Nahia Azpiazu & forward Ainhoa Guallar will join the first team permanently. Last season, both players were part of the affiliate, and their performance allowed them to join the first team this upcoming season. Also, forward Nerea Salinas, Osasuna B player will join the first team. Salinas scored 10 goals in Segunda Federación.
Etxarri and Mendaza to train with the first team
Osasuna Femenino B defender María Mendaza and forward Saioa Etxarri will start the 2024-25 season doing the preseason with the first team.
The team will regroup on July 19 in Tajonar.
