Osasuna Femenino part ways with head coach Kakun Mainz

The club and the coach part ways by mutual agreement.

Pamplona (Monday, May 29, 2023) – Osasuna Femenino announced today that the club has parted ways with head coach Izaskun ‘Kakun’ Mainz. After three years leading the team, the club and the head coach have parted ways by mutual agreement.

Mainz played for S.D. Lagunak, Ardoi, C.D. Lodosa, & A.D. San Juan before becoming a coach. As a coach, she was crucial for the Berriozar C.F. Femenino - the team she trained for seven seasons. The Pamplona native, also served as the U-18 Navarra women’s team.

Mainz joined Club Atlético Osasuna four seasons ago as an academy coach, becoming the first woman to lead a men’s team in the rojillo entity. A year later, the Navarrese coach became the head coach of Osasuna Femenino. For the last three years, Osasuna has gotten close to earning a promotion to Liga F. This year, las rojillas, fell during the promotional playoff semifinals.

The club thanks Kakun Mainz for her work and dedication since her arrival and wishes her the best of luck in her future endeavors.
