Head coach Jagoba Arrasate talked to the media after the 1-1 draw against Real Madrid at Estadio Santiago Bernabéu.

“To earn a point at this stadium, you have to do a perfect game and have some luck,” said the head coach rojillo. “I think we showed personality and had a great first half. Defensively, we were good. I have to admit that to play with 10 men for a quarter of an hour has been heroic. We indeed did a good game, and we had some luck the last 15 minutes of the match.”

Regarding the end of the match where Osasuna had to play with 10 men, the Berriatua native said, “when you suffer this much, the final whistle gives you ease. After they missed the penalty in the last quarter of an hour, they played with four forwards, and we knew we would suffer. We played with three central defenders, we even put [midfielder] Lucas [Torró] to help there… Our defense played well, they didn’t have much luck, and you struggle like this, the result is even sweeter,” he added.

The rojilllo head coach remembered last year’s 0-0 and compared it to this year’s match.

“Last year, we were even more pressed, but Real Madrid did not have many chances. Our game plan today was to keep the ball, have them look for it, and play to [forward] Kike [García]. We kept the ball, created chances, and scored a goal. I won’t say we were the better team, but we did have more chances than them,” Arrasate said.
