Osasuna transfers forward Chimy Ávila to Real Betis
The Navarrese club, the Andalusian side, and the player reached an agreement worth almost six million euros.
Pamplona (Thursday, February 1, 2024) - Club Atlético Osasuna transferred forward Chimy Ávila to Real Betis Balompié, the club announced today. The transfer is worth almost six million euros, distributed as follows: los rojillos will receive four million from Real Betis, which, depending on variables, could reach 4.7 million. Osasuna will receive the amounts in full after the player and his agent waive the percentage of the capital gain included in the contract of his signing.
Also, the Navarrase club will acquire an additional 10% of Raúl García de Haro's future transfer fee, of which it had 65% until now and will now have 75%. Said 10% has been valued at one million euros, taking into account the six million euros paid by Osasuna last summer for 65% of the player. Finally, Osasuna has required Ávila to waive part of his outstanding salary to reach the six million he demanded to close the transfer.
If Real Betis transfers Ávila to another club, Osasuna will retain 20% of the transfer fee.
Luis Ezequiel, 'Chimy' Ávila (February 6, 1994, Rosario, Argentina) has been essential to Osasuna's growth since he arrived at the club in the summer of 2019 from S. D. Huesca. Signed from San Lorenzo de Almagro, the Argentine striker was one of the signings to face the team's return to the top flight. In his first season as a rojillo, 'Chimy' scored nine goals and recorded three assists in LaLiga, and two in the Copa del Rey. He leaves the club having scored 29 goals between LaLiga, Copa del Rey, and Conference League in his 123 appearances with the red shirt. After four and a half years, the Argentine is on his way to Real Betis Balompié. Osasuna wishes him luck in his new professional challenge.
