Pamplona (Thursday, August 31, 2023) - Club Atlético Osasuna has agreed with Real Madrid Club de Fútbol on a full-season loan of midfielder Álvaro Leiva, the club announced today. The rojillo entity will have the option of bringing the player on a permanent deal. The winger will report to head coach Santi Castillejo immediately.  

Leiva is an offensive player with excellent skills and speed, which allows him to outrun his opponent. The right-footed player usually plays as a winger on the left flank, but he can play on the right or as a playmaker. The midfielder joined Real Madrid Castilla after a successful season with Algeciras, where, as a 17-year-old, he played 37 games and became an important player in the division. Last year, he did not play as many games with the merengue affiliate but competed in the UEFA Youth League. Spain's U-18 and U-19 teams have called Leiva.
