Osasuna falls at Real Madrid 4-0
A hat trick by forward Vinicius and one by midfielder Jude Bellingham sentenced the game for the home side.
Club Atlético Osasuna (6-3-4, 21 points) lost to Real Madrid (8-3-1, 27 points) at Santiago Bernabéu on Saturday afternoon. A hat-trick by forward Vinicius Jr and one by midfielder Jude Bellingham late in the first half secured the points for the home side.
The game started level for both sides. First, goalkeeper Sergio Herrera stopped a shot from forward Rodrygo; meanwhile, Osasuna tried to create danger on the flanks. As time passed, the home side began gaining possession of the ball, and Vinicius scored the opening goal from inside the box. As Los Rojillos tried to find the equalizer, Bellingham extended Real Madrid's lead.
In the second half, Vinicius scored twice. The first came on a counterplay, and the second was on a recovery ball in the opposition's half. Los Rojillos tried to cut the lead, and towards the end, defender Abel Bretones sent a cross to the six-yard box looking for forward Raúl García, but to no avail.
Osasuna now heads to the international break and is set to be back in action on Sunday, November 24, to face Villarreal C.F. at El Sadar in Week 14 of LaLiga EA Sports. Kickoff is scheduled at 2 p.m. CET (1 p.m. GMT/8 a.m. ET).
